With the help of their parents, and their new neighbors, Ivie and Jace create a collard patch on lvie's multi-generational family farm. The children received heirloom collard seeds from Big Daddy.
He then guides them through the process of sowing, growing, harvesting, and collecting new seeds. Later when the big greens are harvested, Ma Lee teaches Ivie how to clean and prepare the collards as they cook a delicious southern meal.
