TREE, MORINGA
Moringa oleifera
Seeds per pack ~ 6-7
Germination: 91%
Also called moringa tree, miracle tree, horseradish tree, drumstick tree, ben oil tree. Native to the Himalayan foothills of India and Bangladesh. It's used as a vegetable (the small leaves and long pods are eaten), but also has medicinal properties — hence the name "miracle tree.” Though native to South Asian tropical and subtropical climates, it easily adapts to other areas of the world, and has become especially beloved in West Africa. In temperate climates it can thrive outdoors in the spring, summer, and fall, but must be cut back, dug up, and brought inside for the winter. Typically hardy to Zone 9 outdoors.
